Khabarovsk Territory Ministry of Construction Signs State Contract with DVPI
The regional Ministry of Construction, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, has commenced work on designing the longest river embankment in the Far East. Including this unique project in Khabarovsk’s master plan has defined a key direction for the development of the city’s riverfront. A pedestrian bridge connecting the central part of the city with the Amur Bay dam will become an integral feature of the unified embankment.

Contract Details
The regional Ministry of Construction’s Client Service Agency signed a state contract with DVPI for engineering surveys and design work. This marked the starting point for the construction of the longest river embankment in the Far East, which is one of the five flagship initiatives of Governor Mikhail Degtyaryov under the region’s development strategy.

Project Highlights
According to Mikhail Safronov, head of the department for implementing state programs and infrastructure projects at the Ministry of Tourism, the pedestrian route will stretch over 9 kilometers, making it unique by incorporating cultural, sports, leisure, and recreational landmarks along its entire length.

Planned Facilities:
  • Viewing platforms
  • Bicycle paths
  • Small architectural forms
  • Active and tranquil recreational zones
  • An open-air swimming pool, Ferris wheel, regional and art museums, a philharmonic hall, the second phase of a hotel with a water park, and the Yerofey Arena.

These facilities will attract both residents and visitors, with an estimated annual footfall of over 1 million people.

Project Stages
To enhance the efficiency of project and construction work, the project is divided into two phases:
  1. Phase One: Covers the area from the River Terminal to Vodokanal.
  2. Phase Two: Extends from Vodokanal to the Brosko Mall shopping center.

Comprehensive engineering and geological survey programs have been approved, and a conceptual design has been developed based on a 3D model of the existing terrain. All project work is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
